WWE NXT Results – July 26, 2011
We begin this week’s show with a video package for the feud between Tyson Kidd and Yoshi Tatsu. We see highlights from their matches leading up to tonight’s match between the two men.
We are live on tape from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and your announcers are William ‘Who has a Quaker for a mascot’ Regal and Todd ‘TWA at the Civic Center’ Grisham. Your hosts are Matt ‘Imagine if ECW had ran at the Palestra’ Striker and Maryse.
We are told that Yoshi Tatsu and Tyson Kidd will meet in a Necklace on a Pole Match later tonight.
Grisham and Regal recap what happened on Raw and we will see what happened between John Cena and Rey Mysterio later as well.
We see highlights from last week when Derrick Bateman interfered and may have accidentally helped Titus O’Neil win the match.
Derrick comes to the ring wearing the red, white, and blue trunks that may remind people of Rocky. Derrick removes the trunks to reveal his usual wrestling gear.
Match Number One: Titus O’Neil versus Derrick Bateman
They lock up and O’Neil with a clean break. O’Neil with a short arm clothesline and then he sends Derrick into the turnbuckles. Titus with a forearm across the chest followed by a clothesline. Titus gets a near fall. Titus with a European uppercut followed by a biel. Titus slingshots Derrick into the ropes and he gets a near fall. Titus with an arm bar but Derrick with punches. Titus with a knee.
Titus sends Derrick shoulder first into the turnbuckles followed by a slam and elbow drop for a near fall. Titus returns to the arm and he applies a key lock on Bateman. Bateman with a forearm to the back and then he tries to throw Titus over the top rope but Titus is able to send Derrick over the top rope.
Bateman tries to leave the ring but Darren Young comes out to give some advice to Bateman as we go to commercial.
We are back and Titus with a shoulder tackle and Bateman goes to the apron. Derrick drops Titus on the top rope and then Bateman hits Titus with a double sledge to the back and follows that with a clothesline. Bateman gets a near fall and then he applies a quarter nelson and chin lock.
Bateman with knees to Titus’ head and then he kicks Titus until the referee warns him. Derrick with a snap mare and kick to the head for a near fall. Bateman with a rear chin lock on Titus. Titus with a belly-to-back suplex and both men are down. Titus gets sent into the turnbuckles and then he kicks Titus and connects with a forearm across the chest and then he connects with more forearms.
Bateman returns to the ring and then he hits a leg drop on the apron as he continues to work on the head and neck. Derrick gets a near fall. Derrick with a rear chin lock followed by an Irish whip but he runs into an elbow in the corner.
Derrick with kicks to the chest followed by a snap mare and then he goes up top but Titus side steps Bateman to avoid him. Titus with a shoulder tackle followed by a clothesline and a back breaker for a near fall. Titus with a punch but he misses a charge into the corner. Derrick runs into an elbow and then Young grabs Titus’ foot and Derrick with a running drop kick into the corner and Bateman gets the three count after a bulldog driver.
Winner: Derrick Bateman
After the match, Young has something to say to Titus and it appears that we have an alliance between Young and Bateman.

Hornswoggle is in the back with his gift and he is in a good mood. He sees a heart and assumes it is for him. There is a note for him to wait for a kiss and he giggles before we see that it is AJ. Maryse happens to stop by and she points out that Hornswoggle found someone his own size. AJ says that Hornswoggle is a great guy and Maryse is so mean.
Maryse says that AJ and Hornswoggle are perfect for each other because they are both trolls. AJ slaps Maryse and Maryse tells AJ that she is crazy and not to touch her.
AJ gives Hornswoggle the flowers.
Vladimir Kozlov is on top of a vending machine and he says that he is planking. He talks about where he has planked. JTG tells Vladimir that the bet is to be the best gangster, not plankster. Vladimir says that he will prove that he is the best plank gangster. JTG tells Vladimir that he has one more week to prove it.
Match Number Two: Tyson Kidd versus Yoshi Tatsu in a Necklace on a Pole Match
Kidd with a kick and then he sends Yoshi to the floor so he can climb the pole but Yoshi stops him. Yoshi with chops to Kidd followed by a head butt. Yoshi goes to the turnbuckle but Kidd stops him. Yoshi with a chop followed by a spinning heel kick. Yoshi gets to the pole but Kidd pulls him off and Kidd with a back heel kick and drop kick to the head.
Kidd with a kick to the head and a neck breaker. Kidd climbs the turnbuckles but Kidd is stopped by Yoshi and they go over the top rope to the floor. Kidd appears to have hurt his leg because he tries to get some feeling back into his knee. Kidd with a suplex on the floor. Yoshi with a chop and kicks to Kidd that send him into the ring steps and then he hits a flying double knee to Kidd against the ring post.
Yoshi leaps off the ring steps but Kidd moves and Yoshi hits the ringside barrier and Yoshi’s leg hits the barrier. Kidd gets to the ring first and he kicks Yoshi through the ropes. Kidd rolls Yoshi back into the ring and Kidd with punches and kicks to Yoshi. Kidd chokes Yoshi in the corner while the referee checks on both men. Both men hit clotheslines and they both go down.
Kidd rolls to the apron and Yoshi rolls to the floor. Kidd climbs the turnbuckles and Yoshi with a forearm. Kidd with a forearm and then he sends Yoshi’s head into the poel. Yoshi pushes Kidd off the turnbuckles and Yoshi falls too but it appears that Kidd took the worse bump because he may have hit the announce table.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Kidd chokes Yoshi and they go back to the floor Kidd with a running drop kick to the head and Kidd returns to the ring while Yoshi tries to recover in the ring. Kidd climbs the turnbuckles but Yoshi stops Kidd. They return to the mat and Kidd with a slingshot leg drop to the apron. Kidd with a Boston Crab in the ropes to weaken Yoshi and he leans back to add more pressure to the hold. Kidd kicks Yoshi to the floor and he crawls across the ring but Yoshi gets a second wind to stop Kidd who was almost to the necklace. Yoshi with a chop and then Yoshi with a float over on an Irish whip and Yoshi with a round kick to the head and both men are down.
Yoshi tries to get to the corner where the pole is and he is on the top turnbuckle but Kidd crotches Yoshi to prevent Yoshi from grabbing his plastic leg. Kidd has Yoshi in the tree of woe and he kicks Yoshi in the back. Kidd climbs the turnbuckles as well but Yoshi with elbows. Kidd with an elbow. Yoshi has the leg but Kidd with a German suplex from the turnbuckles. The referee sees the leg in Yoshi’s hand and calls for the bell.
Winner: Yoshi Tatsu
Yoshi returns his friend’s leg to its body, but Kidd attacks Yoshi and goes for the leg in a fitting bit of irony. Kidd sends Yoshi’s leg into the post and then he drops Yoshi’s knee across the announce table. Yoshi screams in pain and Kidd does not stop the attack and he stomps on Yoshi’s knee. Kidd rolls Yoshi back into the ring to apply the figure four leg lock using the ring post to add extra damage to the leg.
Kidd eventually releases the hold and takes the leg back as he has a maniacal smile on his face.

We are back with a look back at the John Cena/Rey Mysterio match from last night’s Raw as well as what happened after the match. (If you miss this and missed it on Monday, make sure to check out Superstars on Thursday night because I am sure it will air then as well)
